2009 Acura TSX Changes
The Acura TSX is all new for 2009. The TSX is powered by an all-aluminum 2.4L inline-4 producing 201 hp. Exterior styling is an aggressive evolution of that seen on the Honda Accord, with bulging wheel wells, angular headlights, and a bold front grille treatment. The new TSX is longer and wider than the car it replaces, and features both a wider track and longer wheelbase. Two trim levels are offered for 2009; the base model is priced at $28,960, while the model with Technology Package costs $32,060.
2009 Acura TSX Overview
The 2009 TSX is the Acura is powered by a DOHC all-aluminum 2.4L inline-4 with i-VTEC variable timing. It now delivers 201 hp at 7,000 rpm and 172 ft-lb of torque at 4,300 rpm. Overall, power comes across a broader powerband and for the first time meets the EPA's strict emissions standards as an Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV). Power is delivered to the front wheels through either a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed automatic with a SportShift manual mode utilizing steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The car makes use of all its ponies quite sportily. The TSX's chassis has been stiffened and ride dynamics have improved, while at the same time the ride is quieter in the cabin. Additionally, the car's suspension utilizes new dual-mode dampers, which change automatically given road and driving conditions.
