Acura of Portland is proud to be partnering up with Loaves and Fishes, the organization that provides Meals-On-Wheels. Every show car in the showroom has a magnetic strip on the sides of the cars that reads, Acura of Portland Supports Loaves & Fishes Centers, The Meals-On-Wheels People. Acura of Portland adopted two routes that employees have volunteered to drive weekly Meals-On-Wheels. Adopt-A-Route was implemented to allow employees of businesses, clubs, and service organizations to deliver Meals-On-Wheels while driving Acuras with the magnetic strip on the side. Acura of Portland adopted a particular route and depending on the business or organization delivers meals either every week or every month.

In April of 2007, Acura of Portland, sponsored our 3rd annual DNA LifePrint Child Safety Event, endorsed by John Walsh.  This free event was open to all members of the community.  The DNA LifePrint Child Safety Program promotes child safety awareness and provides important tools to families which can help protect their children against violence and save precious time in getting the vital information to law enforcement officials in case of abduction.

The DNA Legacy kit is the “fingerprint for the future”.  With this simple yet comprehensive kit, you can obtain a DNA sample of your loved ones and safely maintain it for years to come.  Invaluable for uses in medical and identification applications, this DNA safety event is the definitive way to preserve your beloved’s DNA for future uses.

The overwhelming success of this program has proven to the people of this community that Acura of Portland, once again, has a caring need for our children’s safety above all else.  Teaching our children about important safety guidelines will never put them as a potential target for predators.  Of all the legacies we leave behind, only one is priceless.
